2010 Stand-up Comedy so far:
Lewis Black w/ John Bowman (again)
Doug Benson w/ Graham Elwood
Would have seen Louis C.K. and Todd Barry (again), but too ill to attend.
And I've done 3 minutes on stage at Zanies 4 times. And It's unbelievably difficult. Kudos, funny people.

Chicago 2009
Devon and I visited Chicago on August 22. Devon, the 13-year-old boy genius, had never been to Chicago and had never seen a comedy show.
We sat in the front row at the Lakeshore Theatre to see John Oliver, and it quickly turned into The John Oliver and Devon Quick Show -- they had quite a running conversation.
It started when John, who misses nothing, saw Devon and asked him how old he was...he replied "thirteen" and John said (sarcastically) "Fantastic." But little did John know he had nothing to worry about. Devon got all the jokes, his favorite word is "kurfuffle," and his favorite phrase is "WTF?!"
Later on, John walked over to Devon and started to explain a joke about how Galileo died under house arrest for blasphemy, and Devon protested "I know that!" John was astounded, and when he asked Devon how he knew that, he answered: "I watch the History Channel a lot."
At the end of the show, John pronounced Devon to be his "new favourite kid." And he told Devon: "When you go back to school on Monday, tell them you had a f***ing great time in Chicago." Devon laughed his ass off. This Was The Best Show Ever.
No photos of the show, but see my Facebook album for photos of Wrigley Field, more Wrigley Field, and more...

Bonnaroo 2009
June 11-14, 2009:
I went to Bonnaroo for the first time and spent most of my time in the Comedy Tent.
I saw: Pete Holmes, Janeane Garofolo, Amy Schumer, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, Todd Barry, Aziz Ansari, Kamil Nunjani, Nick Kroll, Michael Ian Black, and...
I told Nick Thune that he rocked even when the electricity went out.
Christian Finnegan rubbed some sunscreen on my burnt shoulder.
Before their 3rd show, I gave authentic New Orleans Mardi Gras beads to Rob Riggle, Rory Albanese, Wyatt Cenac, the lovely John Oliver, and Kristen Schaal, who gave me a big hug.
The only comedian I did not see was Jimmy Fallon, because I had line fatigue.
I got photos of a balloon, the Daily Show folks, and more...

How It Took 3 Taxis and 1 Hour of Panic To Get A Moment With John Oliver
A story about the amazingly amazing night when Lee nearly-kinda-almost-not-quite-missed meeting John Oliver in New York City, and wrote it down because she's aping David Sedaris. Settle in with a cup of tea and listen to a tale of intuition, unprepared-ness, incompetence, and serendipitous-ness.

note: This story is true, but I have included one lie just to make it more interesting.
